Banque Misr Foundation for Community Development donates with Twenty One Dialysis Machines and Capsule systems for operating rooms with an amount of 14.5 Million EGP for Assiut University Hospitals and South Egypt Cancer Institute

Banque Misr Foundation for Community Development inaugurates the dialysis unit in Assiut University Hospitals that have been supplied with twenty one dialysis machines to serve the needy and incapable patients as well as dialysis chairs with an amount of 3 million EGP. The inauguration took place in the presence of Mr. Hassan Abdel Latif Vice Chairman of Assiut University Hospitals and the Head of Dialysis Unit Mr. Ashraf El-Shazly, in addition to a number of Faculty of Medicine Deputies and Heads of Departments as well as Banque Misr Representatives. Banque Misr Foundation has also inaugurated Interventional Pains Unit within South Egypt Cancer Institute; this institute is considered the only educational institute in the Upper Egypt, this Foundation has supplied the interventional pains unit with an amount of 1.5 Million EGP, Banque Misr Foundation as well has contributed to the preparation of capsule systems for the operating rooms and this contribution amounted 10 Million EGP. Moreover, the Dean of South Egypt Cancer Institute Dr. Sami Abdel Rahman and Dr. Mostafa Al-Sharqawy the Ex-Dean of the Institute have been present during the inauguration of Interventional Pains Unit.

Further, this inauguration springs from Banque Misr pioneer role in the field of community responsibility as it is considered one of the focal areas that Banque Misr believes in. Thus, Banque Misr participates in different supporting activities for the sake of community development whether directly or indirectly through "Banque Misr Foundation for Community Development", such participation takes place in various fields such as Health, Education, Social Solidarity and community development such as developing the poor and needy Egyptian villages as well as developing the slum areas in addition to any other activity related to the improvement of human beings. Moreover, the developmental role of Banque Misr Foundation is not restricted to this as the foundation constantly endeavors to participate with different NGOs and Egyptian Universities. Further illustration, BM Foundation has contributed to the implementation of a variety of projects, such as the development of slums as well as developing the neediest Egyptian villages that have reached 60 villages within Sohag Governorate, Luxor, Aswan, Monufia, Qalyubia and Fayoum. Such projects aim at the well-being of the inhabitants of these areas through improving the quality of the educational and health services, also through providing the youths with job and training opportunities in addition to improving the houses infrastructure, building roofs and supplying the houses with water as well as providing the inhabitants of these villages with medical convoys to serve them. Banque Misr Foundation has also played a significant role in developing the slums within Cairo (Bassatin, Arab El-Maadi and Dweika) socially, educationally and economically, also BM Foundation has provided the youths and female breadwinners with professional training and supported their SMEs due to the fact that these categories are considered the neediest categories in the society.

It is worth noting that, Banque Misr is considered one of the Largest Banks with vast experience in the field of Community responsibility and one of the most respectful organizations as BM highly realizes Social and Environmental responsibilities as well as the rules of governance that lie on the Bank's burden and complement with the standards of its performance and the sustainability of its work over the long term. Also, Banque Misr is the First Egyptian State-owned Bank that receives the approval of the Global Reporting Initiative, where Banque Misr determines its work in accordance with the principles of sustainability through considering the idea Governance, Human Rights and community engagement in addition to fighting corruption side by side with considering the Environmental Safety Standards. Banque Misr as well, corresponds with the UN Global Compact standards for citizenship (the Community Responsibility of Institutions) so as to maintain its position as a role model for all the institutions in supporting society through all the available methods in order to achieve the sustainable development of the society. Moreover, the total payments of Banque Misr throughout the fiscal year 2016/2017 have reached about 351.4 Million EGP, and the donations of Banque Misr during the current year 2017/2018 until present have reached more than 566.4 Million EGP.
