Banque Misr has successfully received the PCI-DSS 3.2, the latest iteration of the international certification system for electronic security standards.
The certification is granted to banks that adhere to international standards of data securitization for credit and payment cards and provide the highest standards of services and protection to customers through the largest international institutions, such as Visa Inc., Mastercard and American Express.
Banque Misr was the first bank in Egypt and North Africa to receive the PCI-DSS certification in 2010, and further received the certification in 2013, 2014 and 2015. The certification is an affirmation of the efforts made by the bank's administration to commit to the highest international standards of data security for payment cards, thereby reflecting on the level of banking services provided to customers, which meet the highest levels of distinction and safety.
The certification was awarded by ControlCase, which is mandated by Visa Inc. and is a global specialist approved by the PCI Security Standards Council to review the application of international standards for compliance with credit and payment card data protection standards. ControlCase conducted wide-scale control operations to test the information systems and networks at Banque Misr and to ensure the implementation of information security systems and the application of all the requirements of international security standards.
Banque Misr consistently seeks to be a pioneering banking institution in securing its customers' data and providing them with the best banking products and services. Further, the bank ensures that it is up to date with the latest international technological advances to develop its systems and services, with the aim of providing safe electronic payment methods to its customers locally, regionally and internationally.
