The Women's International Tennis Championship has kicked off in SOHO square, in Sharm El-Sheikh during October 17th and 24th.
64 players involving more than 25 European countries; Russia, Spain, Italy, England, France, Belgium, United States, Belarus, Germany, Sweden, and some Asian countries such as China, alongside Latin American countries like Argentina and Mexico, have taken part in the championship.
A number of Egyptian players have also participated in the event.
The championship was followed by a ceremony for delivering awards to the winners.
The ceremony was attended by South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda, Ismail El Shafei, board member at the International Tennis Federation (ITF), Israa El-Sanhouri, ITF president, Mohamed Ghazzawi, Chairman of the event organizer Proactive Co, South Sinai Governor's Secretary-General Mahmoud Issa, Hisham Demeiri, Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Authority, and Nagy Zarif, General Manager of Savoy Sharm Group.
Ambassadors of participating countries were also present in the ceremony alongside international celebrities, Egyptian sports figures and coaches.
Banque Misr was keen to participate in the event, in a step aimed to promote Egyptian tourism in Sharm el-Sheikh, the City of Peace.
Banque Misr has sponsored the championship as part of the bank's leading social responsibility, which marks one of the key themes that the bank believed in focusing on health, education, sport fields as youths are the cornerstone of a for better future for Egypt.
Moreover, the bank sponsored previously a lot of tournaments including Egypt' s squash sky open championship for professionals, the third Arab beach soccer championship besides providing youth and sport centers for several years successively across the republic.
Therefore, the bank is seeking to provide a positive role model in social responsibility.
