BM inaugurates its student services building in support of Zewail city of science and technology

In the presence of Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby, chairman of Banque Misr and Dr. Sherif Sedky, the executive president of Zewail City of Science and Technology, student services building at Zewail city of science and technology after being furnished to operate, amid the presence of several banking figures and prominent public figures.

 

The new building provides a centralized location for all strategic studies. The building represents a real breakthrough in terms of vocational guidance and training by navigating through the students' academic journey. This is in addition to offering internship opportunities inside and outside Egypt.  The new establishment will serve as a stepping stone for many students to the labor market. It will strive to bridge education-to-employment gap. In addition, a unit inside the building will be assigned to foster corporate partnerships and business development through effective advising to support business community and overcome industry challenges.

 

The support of Banque Misr for Zewail City of Science and Technology is based on its belief in the importance of science and education as both of them are from the most important axes for progress and civilization of communities.  The city had contributed during the previous period with 750 international researches in the international scientific journals and with number of 12 patents.

 

Bank Misr's contribution to this project is a confirmation on its pioneering role in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility which is one of the main beliefs. The bank has always been an example for all institutions working in support of society by various means to achieve sustainable development in society. It is worth mentioning that Banque Misr contributes in many activities that support the development of the community, which mainly focuses on Human resources development in the fields of education, job creation, especially for youth and women as well as health and development of Egyptian villages.

 

The Bank is always keen to encourage partnerships all Egyptian sectors including government, national and private sectors through providing a successful model in the society which contributes effectively to the development of society.

 

Banque Misr is one of the largest banks in the field of CSR and one of the most recognized institutions for its environmental and social responsibilities as well as governance rules which are integrated with the bank long-term performance and standards.

 

Banque Misr is the first state-owned Egyptian bank to obtain GRI approval and to report business in line with sustainability principles by taking into account governance, human rights, combating corruption, community participation and environmental safety standards. The bank also complies with UN Global Compact for Corporate Citizenship. It is noteworthy that Banque Misr has spent EGP 700 million in community development for the fiscal year 2017/2018.
