Banque Misr held the 3rd Arab Beach Soccer Championship honoring ceremony, in the presence of Khaled Abdul Aziz, Minister of Youth and Sports, Mohammed Abbas Fayed, Vice-Chairman of Banque Misr, and many of the country's senior officials.
The Bank sponsored the championship, which was held from the 13th to the 17th of May, 2014 in La Gouna Stadium, Nabq, Sharm El Sheikh. Eight Arab countries, including UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, KSA, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, and Egypt participated in the championship under the auspices of Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Tourism, South Sinai Governor, Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA), and Egyptian Football Association (EFA).
Officially sponsoring the 3rd Arab Beach Soccer Championship demonstrates the bank's strong belief in the importance of sports and tourism. Also, the intiative plays a significant role in improving Egypt's image in front of the world by assuring the country's capabilities in hosting major global and regional events. It is also worth noting that Marsa Matrouh hosted the 1st Arab Beach Soccer Championship in 2008 .
Banque Misr has a leading role in the social responsibility serving the country in different fields including health, education, and sports. As,it adopted initiatives that shared a strong belief in the role of youth as agents for a better future, including the sponsoring of "Banque Misr Sky Open 2013" Squash Championship .
