BANQUE MISR holds current accounts for individuals and companies, offering a wide range of benefits, such as:Transfer from current account to any other account.Collection of checks drawn for the benefit of the client on any bank and crediting his account with their value.Payment of various obligations on behalf of the client upon specific instructions, such as telephone, telex, international telephone and telex, wireless car phone, mobile telephone, data transfer service and periodic obligations, to be charged to the current account of the client.A joint current account can be opened for two or more normal persons, allowing easy depositing and withdrawal.BANQUE MISR Savings Certificates can be bought and charged against the current account. The interest of certificates can be credited to the client’s current account to be withdrawn at any time.BANQUE MISR Cards can be utilized for easy withdrawal from the current account for 24 hours daily, including weekends and official holidays through the ATMs of BANQUE MISR, which are available all over the country.BANQUE MISR can pay insurance premiums on behalf of its clients, to be charged against their current accounts.Clients can use their checkbooks issued by BANQUE MISR to issue Checks against their current accounts.Transfer of salaries and pensions from various agencies to the current account of the client upon his request. A current account may be opened for persons who are under-age, with a guardian or tutor.
How to open a current account in local currency: A-In case the client is inside Egypt: The client may go to the nearest branch of BANQUE MISR to his residence or work location, where he meets the employee in charge to indicate his wish to open a current account. The client should show an identification document and fill the required forms.B- In case the client is abroad: The client may send a letter to one of the branches of BANQUE MISR indicating his wish to open a current account and stating his address abroad.The branch of BANQUE MISR shall respond to the client with a letter addressed to the client abroad and attaching the required forms for opening a current account. The client shall fill the forms according to instructions of the branch. The client signature shall be attested through one of the following ways:Egyptian Embassies and Consulates in the country where the client is.Offices of the Egyptian government abroad, provided that the attestation should have the seal of the Republic.Any correspondent bank, whose signature specimens are available with BANQUE MISR.BANQUE MISR opens accounts for fixed-term and notice deposits for periods ranging from 7 days to 7 years.The deposit may be withdrawn at any time before the maturity date; with accrued interest for the period of deposit (interest is reduced by 2% from the applicable interest rate for the period agreed upon at the time of deposit).Upon maturity of the deposit, interest can be credited to the current account or added to the original deposit, according to the wish of the client.· Current Account with foreign currencyBANQUE MISR opens current accounts in foreign currencies for Egyptians, Arabs and foreigners. Express Transfers in foreign currencies and Egyptian Pounds:Express transfers are made in cooperation with Arab exchange companies. A person can use this system to transfer money to a beneficiary within 24 hours in Cairo and 48 hours outside Cairo. Payment is made in cash or through crediting of account or crediting accounts in local banks.How to open a current account in foreign currency:A - In case the client is inside Egypt:The client may go to any branch of BANQUE MISR to indicate his wish to open a current account and to give his instructions in this regard. The account is opened in the presence of the client.B - In case the client is abroad:The client may send a letter to one of the branches of BANQUE MISR in which he wishes to open a current account.The branch of BANQUE MISR shall send to the client a letter attaching the required signature forms and request for opening a current account. The client shall return the filled forms and signature specimens attested through the nearest Egyptian Embassy or Consulate or any correspondent bank dealing with BANQUE MISR.
