Mr. Mohamed Kamal El-Din Barakat

Mr. Mohamed Barakat , Chairman of the federation of Egyptian Banks, is one of the leaders of the banking industry in Egypt . In 2002, he joined Banque Misr as Chairman of the board. Afterwards, he became Chairman of Banque Du Caire Egypt, Banque Misr Liban, Bank Misr Europe and the Board Member of Banque du Caire Amman .

Under his auspices and with the assistance of a group of international consultants, Banque Misr has commenced a comprehensive strategic plan and restructuring program to introduce new lines of business and to upgrade and centralize the Bank's operations, introducing new technologies and training programs to improve performance, expand banking infrastructure, develop new products and increase shareholder profits.

Mr. Barakat's professional reputation lies in the banking sector. After earning a degree in Accounting from Alexandria University and an MBA degree from University of San Francisco-USA , Mr. Barakat undertook extensive training in US Banking. During his career, he had a strong record of achievements in senior managerial positions, as he previously held the position of Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Egyptian Gulf Bank. Currently, he is a Board Member of Central Bank of Egypt , Board Member of The Egyptian Banking Institute, and Board Member of The Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences, Vice Chairman of the Union of Arab Banks. Furthermore, he is Board Member of Visa International CEMEA (Central Europe, Middle East and Africa Region) representing Egypt .
