Banque Misr Provides Electronic Payment Service in Co-operation with the Supreme Council of Universities

Mr. Yehia El Agamy, General Manager of Retail Banking and Small Enterprises and member of Banque Misr’s executive committee, has signed an electronic payment co-operation agreement with Dr. Salwa Al Ghareeb, General Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, in the presence of Mr. Mohammad Barakat, Head of Banque Misr’s Board and Professor Hany Helal, Minister of Higher Education.

The signing of this agreement came to reinforce Banque Misr’s role in the realm of electronic payment services through the Internet. The agreement will entail the provision of an online electronic payment service by Banque Misr through the Supreme Council of Universities’ Website, thereby enabling the Council to collect outstanding fees from students through the use of their electronic payment cards. Banque Misr will collect fees and credit them to the Council’s account.

Banque Misr constantly aims to expand its online electronic payment services in line with government plans to increase e-government services and keep up with global trends that encourage cashless societies through the use of payment cards.

The Bank had already played a pioneering role in this realm as it was the first to provide an electronic payment Website in the Middle East, thereby applying e-trade principles for the first time in Egypt. This was the reason the Bank was chosen to become the payment gateway for Egypt’s e-government portals.

Banqu Misr constantly aims to strengthen the link it has with its clients through co-operating with government institutions and ministries in various fields, providing a range of banking products and services that cater to all needs.
