Banque Misr launches a charity initiative through its saving pools

Building on its commitment to provide customers with unique and diverse saving pools, not only to keep pace with the overall developments within the banking sector but also to strengthen and consolidate the idea of its continuous active social participation, Banque Misr issued a new type of nominal saving certificates with a period of 10 years to be automatically renewed on the due date. The certificate is issued on behalf of a person (the donor) for another person (the recipient of the donation). The revenue can be paid to the recipient of the donation according to the client’s instructions (monthly or every three or six months). The certificate is issued in various denominations starting from 500 EGP / US$ and up to ten thousand EGP / US$. Clients can purchase the certificate from any of Banque Misr’s branches available across the country without any commission charges or additional expenses. Clients may also redeem the full value of their certificates six months from the issuance date.

Another unique feature of this certificate is the privilege of giving individuals the opportunity to use their temporary and permanent financial surpluses. In addition they can direct the revenue to charity while retaining the advantage of possibly withdrawing the full amount of the certificate without any deduction 6 months from the issuance date.

It is worth mentioning that Banque Misr has the accounts of numerous charity organizations, such as the Egyptian Food bank, Diabetes in Children Healthcare Center, Center for Children with Special Needs, the Ministry of Health and Population’s initiative to provide medical treatment for the underprivileged, Friends of the National Cancer Institute, Liver Research Institute and Hospital, Blood and Oncology Clinic for Children, Children Cancer Hospital, Liver Patients Association in Dakahleya, Tumors Diagnostic Unit and Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak’s project to treat children with cancer, National Heart Institute, Kidney Diseases Center, Orman Orphanage,  Nour Charity Association, and the 57357 Hospital.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Banque Misr encouraged all its customers to contribute to the ongoing support to those in need and/or charity organizations and hospitals by donating the revenues of their saving certificates to their respective accounts.  This initiative was done in an effort to support the local community and to better serve Banque Misr customers.
