Diarna Exhibition 2019
Banque Misr and a Distinguished Participation in Diarna 2019
Banque Misr has sponsored the Ministry of Social Solidarity's exhibition Diarna 2019, which is held in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency hall at the Exhibition Centre under the patronage of Mr. President between 21 January and 5 February 2019, where 500 exhibitors are participating to display and market their handmade and Egyptian heritage inspired products. The Minister of Social Soliditary Dr. Ghada Wali has inaugurated the exhibition, accompanied by Minister of Culture Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Ambassador Nabila Makram, National Council for Women President Dr. Maya Morsy and a number of public figures. The exhibition has also seen a number of art shows presented by Ministry of Culture following teams beside lectures and discussion sessions on the handmade and Egyptian heritage inspired products sector.
Banque Misr's sponsorship of this exhibition was based on the bank's major role in supporting and encouraging small and micro businesses considering it as the cornerstone for the renaissance of the country's economy and in consistency with the nation's policies focusing on this direction. The exhibition was a good marketing opportunity for marketing the products of small businesses funded by banks and others with handmaking professions. Banque Misr had participants who were funded with very small amounts for their projects which became real productive entities in the national economy. It is worth mentioning also that Banque Misr is giving great attention to funding medium, small and very small sized businesses as the number of the portfolio's clients increased by 32% between June 2017 and June 2018 beside the portfolio's value which witnessed an increase of 131% in the same period.
Banque Misr was also awarded a number of prizes in the field of financing medium, small and very small sized businesses from many international organisations as recognition and crowning of its achievements and efforts in the field. The awards included: award of the fastest growing bank in the field of funding small and medium sized businesses in Egypt 2018 from International Finance magazine (An international finance specialized magazine), the best bank for funding small and medium sized businesses in the Middle East and North Africa in 2018 from Wealth and Finance magazine, the best bank for funding small and medium sized businesses in 2018 from European British magazine and the best bank for funding small and medium sized businesses in Egypt 2018 from International Business magazine.
