Banque Misr Signs Protocol of Collaboration with Tahya Misr Fund for Provisioning Electronic Collection Services
Owing to Banque Misr’s pioneering role in the domain of online collection transactions and its stature as one of the major Egyptian banks operating in the field of electronic payment cards and services, the Bank recently concluded a collaboration protocol with Tahya Misr Fund for provisioning and developing electronic collection services on Sunday, 28th March 2021. The ceremony was attended by Major General Mohamed Amin Nasr – Financial Affairs Advisor to the President and Secretary of Tahya Misr Fund; Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby – Chairman of the Board of Banque Misr; Mr. Tamer Abdelfattah – CEO of Tahya Misr Fund; Mr. Akef El-Maghraby – Vice Chairman of the Board of Banque Misr; and Mr. Hossam Abdelwahab – Deputy Chairman of the Board of Banque Misr. This is in addition to select executives representing both parties.
This protocol is set to allow all donations made to the Fund, through Tahya Misr website and other services, by accepting all banking cards as well as via BM Wallet and other electronic wallets through QR Code. Worth noting is that Tahya Misr Fund was created pursuant to a Presidential decree in order to support the national economy, in light of the critical circumstances experienced by Egypt; coupled with crucial economic and social conditions that warrant positive action by all citizens. The Fund is a testament to the resilience and resolute nationalism of the great Egyptian people, who seek a better and promising future for the country, owing to its grand history and the selfless sacrifice of its sons and daughters. It also firmly stands for mobilizing our capabilities as a nation, to build our country and overcome any challenges that come our way, especially on the economic front.
The signing of this protocol comes in line with the strive by Banque Misr to render advanced electronic services, to support the direction of the Egyptian state and the CBE’s plan for financial inclusion – considered a priority for Banque Misr – together with the transformation to a cashless society. This is by driving the utilization of electronic payment transactions – as instructed by the policies of the National Electronic Payments Council, headed by the President – with the aim of limiting banknotes and promoting the use of electronic means and channels as a viable alternative.
This protocol will allow donors to make donations to the Fund, through Tahya Misr website and other services and comes as a step among numerous successful endeavors by Banque Misr - a pioneer in rendering electronic collection services via QR Code and Meeza Digital network, while being the first bank to offer withdrawal and deposit services for mobile wallets – via its network of ATMs. This is to enable individuals to transfer cash through their electronic wallets and withdraw the funds instantly; whereby Banque Misr is considered the first to have offered payment via mobile, through its BM Wallet.
Banque Misr always strives to launch innovative electronic solutions to facilitate customers' transactions,  in a way that saves valuable time and effort, while contributing to the national economy. This collaboration is one of the aspects of the efforts exerted by Banque Misr towards supporting digital transformation, by rendering electronic solutions that fulfil customers’ needs and requirements. The Bank – being a leading financial institution – consistently partakes in initiatives and protocols that serve its customers and satisfies their requirements, together with achieving sustainable development and prosperity for Egypt.
