Replacing a Pension Card with a Meeza Card
Banque Misr Replaces Pension Cards with the Meeza Cards
In line with the state's plan to replace the Ministry of Finance's current pension card system with pre-paid Meeza cards, Banque Misr issued and operated pre-paid Meeza cards for pensioners; allowing them various privileges and advantages such as withdrawing from Banque Misr and other ATMs, purchasing from all merchants throughout Egypt, making purchases online, utilizing the cards for various government payments, the possibility of obtaining various personal loan services and other facilities.
A hotline (19680) was also allocated for Meeza cardholders, enabling pensioners to inquire about the nearest location from which to replace pension cards. Accordingly, the pensioner may visit the nearest Banque Misr ATM, enter the current pension card to know Banque Misr branches, visit and replace the current card by the new card merely by presenting the national ID card, completing the card issuance application and receiving the new card immediately. The current pension card holder may also contact the hotline to inquire about the Bank's branches offering this service.
The issuance of pre-paid Meeza cards for pensioners comes in line with Banque Misr's efforts to drive financial inclusion and spread awareness among sectors who do not interact with banks, while onboarding additional segments to the banking sector in order to positively impact the Egyptian economy.
