Banque Misr Endorses the Activities of the Egyptian Tennis Federation
Banque Misr signed an endorsement agreement with the Egyptian Tennis Federation for sponsoring various tennis activities and functions in 2021. The event was witnessed by Dr. Ashraf Sobhy – Minister of Youth and Sports; and the agreement was signed by Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby – Chairman of the Board of Banque Misr and Mr. Ismail El Shafei – President of the Egyptian Tennis Federation on Monday, 1/2/2021 in the attendance of several executives representing the three parties. The agreement seeks to sponsor the activities of the ETF for this season; including the Davis Cup, Roland Garros and Wimbledon, with the added value of promoting the sport – being an Olympic sport – and supporting talented players. Worth noting is that Banque Misr had also endorsed the ETF during the season of 2019/2020.
This endorsement comes in line with the Bank’s firm belief in the importance of the youth sector and the role played by sports in creating a healthy and responsible generation. The sports arena is also considered pivotal, insofar as promulgating a culture of “a healthy mind, a healthy body” and scouting and endorsing talented athletes.
In cementing the Bank’s efforts exerted towards assisting Egyptian youth in sports and pushing them to represent Egypt in regional and international competitions, the Bank – in 2018 – had launched the first charity investment fund, the “Egyptian Sports Fund” – licensed by the Financial Regulatory Authority – for raising and investing funds, thereby expending the proceeds on supporting the advancement of Egyptian sports. Banque Misr had also sponsored the Egyptian sports delegation participating in the Paralympic Games of Rio de Janeiro – Brazil 2016; together with sponsoring various competitions and sports.
The Bank constantly strives to lead by example with the aim of building Egypt and developing its citizens and has been a pioneer in endorsing the youth and sports sector in all fields, in pursuit of a better future.
