Banque Misr has been chosen for the 'Best Egyptian Bank for syndicated loans and Project Finance for 2018' award by the World Union of Arab Bankers at a ceremony held in Beirut, Lebanon on Friday 6/7/2018. Award winners have been chosen for providing excellent and quality service to their customers.
Banque Misr Vice Chairman Mr. Akef Al Maghraby received the award from Joseph Torbey, chairman, Union of Arab Banks and Wessam Fattouh, Secretary General of the union. The ceremony was attended by a number of Egyptian and Arab banking leaders in addition to international regulatory personalities from international and regional institutions.
This award is a confirmation for Banque Misr outstanding performance, strong financial results and intensive adopted marketing plan to attract new clients and financing operations. It is also recognition for the Bank commitment to implement its strategic and development objectives to support the national economy in various fields and sectors and achieve sustainable development.
It is worth noting that Bloomberg ranked Banque Misr one of the best banks in Africa during the past four years in many fields that included marketing, management and arrangement of syndicated loans and project finance. Banque Misr was also capable of arranging, funding and participating in several financial transactions that reached EGP 70.4 billion during the period from 01/01/2017 until 31/12/2017. Those transactions covered many sectors that included electricity, renewable energy, real estate investment, oil and gas and finally project development. Banque Misr guarantee in those transactions covered nearly EGP 20.6 billion. The previous achievements clearly show the bank's capability in arranging major financial transactions in all sectors as well as the national projects.
Banque Misr was awarded "The best bank to finance projects in Africa" in 2017 for the third year in a row by EMEA Finance, which is considered one of the most important international association that works in the field of finance and banking. These awards reflect the success that Banque Misr achieved in corporate credit and syndicated loan sectors.
