07/04/2022

In light of Banque Misr’s enthusiasm to support the country’s efforts to achieve financial inclusion, and in accordance with Egypt’s 2030 vision to achieve sustainable development, the bank provided many free benefits and offers on “International Women’s Day” under the patronage of the Central Bank of Egypt. This was in line with the bank’s belief in the significance of allowing all segments of society to access financial services and products that meet their different needs in order to achieve financial inclusion, such as savings accounts, current accounts, payment and transfer services, insurance, finance, and credit. The bank was keen to provide many free benefits and offers to all customers, especially women and youths, as they are the largest group in society. This period of events ran from 8th March to 31st March 2022.

Some of the different financial services and products with free benefits and offers provided by Banque Misr on the occasion of "International Women's Day" included no fees and no minimum deposit required when opening accounts for new customers, and the possibility of obtaining a Meeza card for immediate deduction. Also, when subscribing to and activating the Electronic BM Wallet, 20% of the initial fund statement was recovered during the period of activation, in accordance with the terms and conditions.

In addition, many other benefits and promotions were offered, including exemption from fees with the issuing of prepaid TEENS cards for those under 16 years of age, free BM card issuing for those aged between 16 to 21, free account opening without a guardian’s consent, and the opening of accounts and issuing of a free GO card for those aged between 21 to 30. These cards are included in the youth program. Additionally, Banque Misr offered exemption from credit card issuing fees when obtaining a personal loan from the bank during the month of March. Throughout the event, the bank’s employees were present outside branches in many gathering places across the Arab Republic of Egypt, such as universities, schools, sports clubs, youth centers, malls, and other locations, to deliver the bank's products and services and to open accounts for customers.

Banque Misr’s support for Egyptian women was shown by its participation in the launch of the National Program for Egyptian Family Development, in cooperation with the National Council for Women, in order to increase financial literacy and achieve financial inclusion.

Banque Misr is always keen to participate in all initiatives and campaigns launched by the Central Bank of Egypt, especially the campaigns that support financial inclusion, as well as those that support women with the provision of various financial services, and those championing entrepreneurs who own micro-enterprises, contributing significantly to the growth of the Egyptian economy and raising the standard of living for individuals. It is also considered one of the first banks to contribute to financial inclusion education since its launch in Egypt in 2014 under the patronage of the Central Bank of Egypt. It has offered several programs relating to financial inclusion, for example, supporting small and medium-sized entrepreneurs within the "Pioneers of the Nile" initiative under the patronage of the Central Bank of Egypt. The bank also works at full capacity to develop and establish banking products that suit all age groups, in line with the current technological developments, to keep pace with the expectations of customers, as well as taking into account the groups that do not deal with banks, in an attempt to include them and achieve financial inclusion.
