Banque Misr Receives Most Recent Version of PCI-DSS Certification for Compliance with Payment Card Global Data Security Standards

Banque Misr has successfully obtained the most recent version 3.2.1 of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI – DSS) certification for 2019. Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby – Chairman of Banque Misr – received the PCI-DSS Certification from the Chairman of Control Case LLC on Wednesday, 8th January 2020. The certification is granted to banks that apply global Data Security Standards for ensuring the safeguarding of data related to payment or credit cards, while affording customers the highest service and safety standards, as set by the most prominent global corporations such as Visa Inc., MasterCard and American Express.

It is worth noting that Control Case LLC., which is authorized by global Visa Inc. to grant PCI-DSS certification, is considered one of the specialized international companies authorized by the Council of Information Security Standards for Banking Cards to audit the application of global Data Security Standards for compliance with safeguarding and protecting payment and credit card data. The company has carried out extensive auditing processes examining Banque Misr's information systems and networks to ensure the enforcement of information protection systems and the application of all global standard requirements.

The attainment by Banque Misr of the PCI – DSS 3.2.1 is considered an extension of the efforts exerted by the Bank's Management to comply with global Data Security Standards for payment cards, which is exhibited by offering the best banking services to  customers, at the highest caliber of excellence and safety. Banque Misr is the first in Egypt and North Africa to receive PCI-DSS certification in 2010; having also obtained it for the years 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018.
