Banque Misr sponsors the Egyptian Tennis Federation for the season 2019/2020 and the Davis Cup
Mr. Mohamed El Etreby, Chairman of Banque Misr, signed a sponsorship protocol with the Egyptian Tennis Federation (ETF) for the season 2019/2020 on Tuesday 12/11/2019. Captain Ismail El Shafei, Chairman of ETF, signed on behalf of the federation. Present at this ceremony were Mr. Akef El Maghraby, Vice Chairman of Banque Misr, Mr. Walid Samy, Vice Chairman of ETF, and Dr. Fatma El Goly, Head of Institutional Communication Sector at Banque Misr.

The main objective of the protocol is the sponsorship of ETF activities and events by Banque Misr throughout the season, from national tournaments to the Davis Cup. This coincides with two players from both genders getting qualified for the first time to represent Egypt in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. This will add to the momentum of tennis as a sport in Egypt, and play an important role in getting talented players sponsored since Tennis will be more perceived as an Olympic game. This sponsorship reflects the leading role Banque Misr plays in supporting Egyptian sports, a key player in the lives of Egyptian youth.

Banque Misr has profound faith in its corporate social responsibility, which extends to supporting the Egyptian youth in representing Egypt in regional and international championships and forums. In 2018, the bank launched the first charitable investment fund "Egyptian Sports Fund", licensed by the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority. The fund aims to raise funds and invest them, then spend the return on investment on supporting the renaissance of Egyptian sports. The bank has also sponsored the Egyptian delegation participating in the Paralympics of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, in 2016. Banque Misr has sponsored many championships and different sports; the aforementioned was only to name a few.

In view of their importance in the overall development of the nation, health, education, and youth are some of the main themes that Banque Misr focuses its community development efforts on.  Hence, the ETF sponsorship protocol comes as a natural step in the bank's path to support Egyptian youth by investing in a vital area, such as sports, for such a vital segment that will lead the country in the near future.

Banque Misr is a true pioneer that sets an example for other institutions in catering for the youth sector and their needs in appreciation of the vital role they play towards a better future.
