09/07/2021
With the sponsorship of Banque Misr, Egypt's under 14 girls qualified for the world tennis championships; after beating Morocco , Benin and Kenya; whereas the under 14 boys squad also qualified after beating Nigeria; and the under 16 girls team qualified after having dominated Kenya, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Uganda, Namibia and Tunisia. The African qualifiers were hosted by Egypt from 21st to 26th June 2021.

Banque Misr had signed a sponsorship agreement with the Egyptian Tennis Federation in 2021 for the second consecutive year, having previously endorsed the Federation in 2019/2020 with the aim of sponsoring various events; including league matches, the national championship, Davis Cup matches and other functions. This is for the purpose of spreading the sport of tennis and endorsing exceptional players of the game, which is an Olympic sport, coupled with Banque Misr's pioneering and influential role in supporting Egyptian sports – being an important pillar for Egyptian youth and owing to the Bank's belief in the new generation. The youth and sports field has always been at the heart of the Bank's endeavors, which have frequently been geared towards encouraging the practice of various sports and scouting promising athletic talent.

Also worth noting is that as part of its endorsement of Egyptian sports, Banque Misr launched the first charity investment fund, designated the "Egyptian Sports Fund", which is licensed by the Financial Regulatory Authority for the collection and investment of financial contributions. This comes within the framework of an action plan set in coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Egyptian Olympic Committee. The Fund seeks to fulfil its objectives by observing a carefully-planned and thought out program to achieve world-class athletic excellence; in coordination with the Egyptian Olympic Committee, the various sports federations and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This is to be done by directing technical and tangible support to assist players and coaches and contributing to funding training programs that procure Egyptian champions capable of competing on a global and Olympic level. The Bank had also sponsored the Egyptian delegation participating in the Rio Paralympic Games of 2016; together with endorsing numerous championships and sports.

Banque Misr has always been keen on supporting youth and sports activities, which complement its leading role in driving forward Egyptian athletics and athletes. The Bank has consistently encouraged partnerships between the various sectors of Egyptian society – governmental and private – by offering a successful model to be rolled out throughout Egypt, with the aim of actively contributing to the development and prosperity of communities in Egypt.
