Banque Misr recently signed a protocol of cooperation with the Baheya Foundation for the free early detection and treatment of breast cancer, donating EGP 10 million to meet medical needs and purchase two mammogram devices for the early detection of breast cancer; the presence of which shall be a strong addition to providing an early breast cancer detection service for the treatment of all women.

The signing of this protocol comes in light of the Bank's pioneering role in the field of social responsibility – being one of the pillars of achieving sustainable development – and its keenness on fulfilling the needs of medical institutions to accommodate additional numbers of women - estimated at 56,000 annually – to conduct early detection tests and help eliminate waiting lists by increasing the number of early detection units.

It is worth noting that Banque Misr has always been keen – and owing to its pioneering role in the field of social responsibility – to contribute to the comprehensive development of various sectors of society; including health, education, culture, work and the environment. This is while supporting the most deserving villages, women breadwinner projects and everything related to human development. The Bank also supports the state's efforts in all areas of development; especially in the domains of health and education, which the state seeks to upgrade in order to enhance the caliber of services provided to citizens therein, in a way that is conducive to the public good.

Moreover, Banque Misr has recently contributed an amount exceeding EGP 600 million to several development projects related to health, foremost of which is supporting the health sector throughout the governorates of Egypt in remedying the repercussions of COVID-19. This is in addition to its support of the Magdi Yacoub Foundation for Heart Diseases and Research, at an amount of EGP 32.08 million in order to establish a catheterization center at the new Magdi Yaqoub Hospital in October Gardens, to meet the growing need for cardiovascular treatment and integrate treatment, research and capacity development scientifically. The Bank also supported Al-Nas Children's Hospital at an amount of EGP 30 million, which was granted to the hospital's radiology center; as well as Minia University Hospital to contribute to the development of the hospital's surgery extension at an amount of EGP 65 million. The Bank's total contributions to the field of social responsibility during the fiscal year 2019/2020 amounted to approximately EGP 1.4 billion; totaling more than EGP 3.2 billion over the last five years.
