Banque Misr Participates in World Youth Day Initiative, Offering Free Banking Services to Support Financial Inclusion Under the patronage of the Central Bank of Egypt

Aug 06, 2026 03:18 PM

As part of its leading national role and continued commitment to supporting Egypt’s efforts to advance financial inclusion, Banque Misr is participating in the World Youth Day initiative under the patronage of the Central Bank of Egypt. The Bank’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030 and promoting sustainable economic and social development.

Banque Misr’s participation is rooted in its belief that financial inclusion is a key driver of economic and social empowerment. By expanding access to financial products and services—including bank accounts, payment and money-transfer services, savings and financing solutions—the Bank helps integrate more individuals into the formal banking system. It enables them to manage their finances more effectively.

Throughout the initiative, which runs from 1 to 15 August 2026, Banque Misr is offering a range of free services and benefits to different customer segments, with a particular focus on women and young people.

The offers include the opening of individual current and savings accounts with no account-opening fees, minimum balance requirements or stamp tax charges. The offer applies to Egyptian-pound current and savings accounts—both conventional and Islamic—as well as Al-Mongez current and savings accounts, conventional and Islamic, youth accounts, Al Momken savings accounts, and Hewalty current accounts in either Egyptian pounds or US dollars.

During the initiative, Banque Misr will also issue Meeza prepaid cards free of charge, with no issuance fees. Customers aged between 15 and 21 will be able to open accounts free of charge and receive a BM debit card at no cost under the Bank’s Youth Programme.

Customers who activate a new BM Wallet during the initiative will also be eligible to receive cashback on their first financial transaction. This offer is available once only during the initiative period and is subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

Banque Misr was among the first banks to support the promotion of financial inclusion and financial literacy following the launch of the Central Bank of Egypt’s national financial inclusion initiative in 2014. Since then, the Bank has continued to participate actively in national initiatives and campaigns aimed at expanding access to financial services and products.

These efforts reflect Banque Misr’s commitment to supporting women and young people, empowering entrepreneurs and micro-enterprise owners, and extending the benefits of formal financial services to broader segments of society.

Through its continued participation in national financial inclusion initiatives, Banque Misr contributes to strengthening the national economy, improving quality of life, and supporting Egypt’s sustainable development goals.
