Within the framework of the "Open Your Account in Egypt" initiative launched by the Central Bank of Egypt in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, both Banque Misr and the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) signed a cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs aimed at facilitating the procedures for opening bank accounts for Egyptians working abroad. This is done in cooperation with the embassies and consulates of the Arab Republic of Egypt in some countries around the world.

The initiative allows for opening financial inclusion accounts by visiting Egyptian embassies and consulates, using only a valid national ID card or passport, while benefiting from a package of banking products and services that meet the needs of Egyptians abroad, such as subscribing to the internet banking service, conducting banking transactions like balance inquiries and secure and fast money transfers, and purchasing and redeeming certificates. This enhances their integration into the Egyptian banking sector and provides them with a safe and reliable means to manage their money and invest their savings within Egypt.

On this occasion, Mr. Hisham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr, stated that the bank's participation in the "Open Your Account in Egypt" initiative comes within the framework of its commitment to support the efforts of the state and the Central Bank of Egypt to enhance financial inclusion and connect Egyptians abroad to their homeland through flexible and easily accessible banking solutions. He affirmed that this step represents a qualitative leap in enabling Egyptians working abroad to benefit from banking services without the need to be physically present in Egypt, through cooperation with Egyptian embassies and consulates in many countries.

He pointed out that the initiative reflects Banque Misr's commitment to offering innovative banking services that respond to the aspirations of Egyptians abroad and provide them with effective tools for managing their funds and investing their savings safely and reliably. He also explained that providing these services using a valid national ID card or passport simplifies procedures and ensures an easy banking experience that suits the different lifestyles of expatriates.

He added that the bank always seeks to develop its products and services in line with the needs of all customer segments, focusing on enhancing confidence in the Egyptian banking system, and opening sustainable communication channels with Egyptians around the world. He also stressed that integration with the state's vision and strategy for digital transformation and sustainable development is a fundamental pillar in the bank's future plans. Banque Misr continues its role as a leading national institution, committed to providing banking solutions that support economic growth and contribute to integrating all segments of society into the banking system, thereby consolidating financial stability and enhancing the position of the Egyptian economy at the regional and international levels.
